Chewkie Walks with Grandpa

From my dad (Grandpa Booren):

One of the joys of being a grandpa is time spent with grandchildren. One of my joys of where we live, here in Oregon, is Sunday walks with my 6-year-old granddaughter Chewkie, especially on warm sunny days. Chewkie is not a fast walker, she is really more of a dawdler and that adds to the fun. She loves to walk along a powerline right of way with its many wildflowers and tall grass. As we walk to her "poppy place", she will hide in the really tall grass along the way. She also loves to check out anything and everything she finds along the way, from piles of dirt to puddles in the road, to gently removing any bugs from the flowers she finds. When we get to her "poppy palce", she joyfully celebrates and it is just a simple joy to behold and to be there with her.

Easter Egg Hunt 2020

With social distancing this year we decided not to gather together as an extended family for our annual Easter Egg Hunt at my sister's house. But since we are quarantining with my parents we opted to still do one at their house. Even with all the eggs, my mom, the kids, and I filled, the kids still managed to find them all in under 15 minutes. That's okay though. The kids enjoyed it, I think my parents enjoyed it and afterwards, Matthew and my dad went over to our house to play pool while the kids and I hung out with my mom watching nature shows. It was a lovely afternoon.

P.S. After a less than exciting dentist appointment with the kids I was less than excited to fill their eggs with candy, so instead they got LOTS of coins. My mom actually did the same. Unfortunately Doodah found most of the money eggs which meant we needed to do a little redistribution of wealth before the kids could officially enjoy the bounty of their success.
