Luca Gets a New Room

Those are the faces of my children now that Luca got a new bed which basically transformed her room. Her baby small room, basically the size of a king-sized bed, could not handle the needs of a growing girl who asked for and received an army of stuffies for her last birthday. Dude got new carpet and rearranged his furniture, which was great for him, but after Luca got a bed, he felt he had been short-changed. Poor kid. One side of me thinks, Luca needs a new bed to make up for the tiny room she has been handed, he doesn't. The other side thinks, I get it kid, it's hard to see your sister get something so much cooler than new carpet - after being evicted from your room for the better part of Christmas break. To make up for the seeming injustice, Dude suggested we go to Ikea to get him a new little something for his room. Yes child!

Not pictured is the close to four hours we spent in the car getting to and from Ikea. Nor is pictured the cool peg board he got for the wall above his desk complete with little containers to put his stuff. And for sure not pictured was the harried mom after the Ikea trip after she accidentally broke a plate and spilled her literal cookies while closing the garage door.

I am so happy for my babies and their new spaces and I am so happy I don't have to deal with Portland traffic on the regular.

Puddle Tender Mercy

As I left my house this morning and saw the rain, I thought today is a rain boots kind of day.

And then I got out of my car and stepped directly into a huge puddle. I smiled all the way into the grocery store thinking, "thanks Heavenly Father for having my back today and inspiring my rain boots decision."

P.S. puddles are still fun for adults with the proper footwear.
