In-Person

With so much of our life having gone virtual, it's been so completely wonderful to have a few things return to at least some portion of in-person. A couple of weeks ago I started in-person seminary. We have masks and a copious amount of hand-sanitizer but we are in person and I'm pretty sure we are all happier for the change. I still have my seniors who haven't yet graduated, but I also have another 10 or so students who've joined the in-person movement. It has been such a refreshing change. Yay to not worrying about connection issues, black screens, or connection issues. Yeah, it's in there twice. It was that frustrating.

This week, the kids started in-person school for two days a week. It's not the whole day, but they are loving eating school lunch, riding the bus, having recesses, and not having connection issues. How many times can I mention connection issues. We've done better than we could have any other year with technology, but it's still going to happen and it's still super lame. Chewkie came in after the first day of in-person school and exclaimed, "I LOVE school!!" After watching her joy for school deteriorate along with her patience for distance learning, it was wonderful to hear and see her renewed enthusiasm. Even Doodah, who mourned the loss of his three-hour virtual school was happy, "Mom, the bus is a great place to make friends."

I know there is still so much we need to be doing to stay safe, but I am beyond thrilled with any move to returning to anything in-person!
