More Swim Camp

We had one week this August with nothing going on so Dude said yes to swim camp. Luca was dead set against it. She did not want to be there. Her swimming, according to her, is adequate enough that she didn't want to spend a week being told what to do. But with Matthew out of town on business all week she didn't get the choice to stay home. I made her put on her swimsuit just in case but she was determined that she would not be changing her mind.

She changed her mind. She sat on a chair by the pool and read her book for all of a minute before deciding that it was going to be the longest, dullest hour of her life all week long if she persisted. So, before camp even started she was signed up and ready to go. They loved it.

Dude was less than enthused about having to go back a level since it's been over a year since he's practiced, but he passed again and then was even less excited about having to spend the hour swimming back and forth. I think by the end of the week, he was grateful to have spent a good portion of his time in the fun class.

Luca now wants to take more lessons even if it means having to get back into the cold inside pool.
